Homescape App

Homescape is an app that links online shopping with interior design, making it possible for people to accurately see how their homes will be decorated without having to make unnecessary purchases. Once the user is happy with their items, they can check out through the app, and a delivery will be made.

Sketches

Digital Layout

I went straight to the drawing board when I saw a fictional UX/Ul app layout Hutch and I knew I wanted to use the colour theme for my app. I started working on one task flow that would allow the user to choose the room they would like to decorate and turn on the camera to align the room with the furniture selected.

Icons

Homescape app uses icons to differentiate between each room in the house. These icons make it easy for the user to click and see without having to read long words in a small font.

Rough Draft

Second Rough Draft

I switched a few things around that compliment the layout of the app, before it looked rushed and overwhelmed. But not finished

Final Copy

I fixed the intro by only using one icon to indicate the screen is loading. I added more information on how to navigate the app by including the navigation tab slide out. I made the buttons move to replicate a button being pressed. I labeled all the features like the camera, favourites button, and shopping cart button. I ended the demonstration video with a scrolling feature to show the user there is more options for the home layout.

Brand Name

I created the name Homescape to capture the ideas of living spaces and home decorating. The word is inspired by “landscaping,” which focuses on redesigning outdoor spaces. Homescape transforms that concept into a new term for decorating and redesigning the interior of your home.

First Rough Draft

I worked on my rough draft in Adobe After Effects. I added an intro using the icons. The text in the intro needs adjusting and the moving banner needs to be slower.
